Devin Workshop
These are hands-on labs for learning Devin on realistic engineering tasks, like reviewing a pull request, fixing a security bug, migrating a Java app or handling a production error. In each one you copy a small starter repo, give Devin the prompt from the lab page, and compare what it does with the expected result.
Enter it once and the prompts on every lab page will use it.

Core labs
These labs need a Devin account and GitHub, nothing else.
- Architecture review of an unfamiliar codebaseAsk Devin where a multi-tenant change to Cal.com would break, and it answers with an architecture diagram and a risk list that cite the code, without writing any code itself.Nothing to set up
- Review a pull request with Devin ReviewYou open a pull request that has bugs in its refund and webhook code, and Devin Review comments on the lines at fault with suggested fixes.GitHub
- Find and fix security vulnerabilitiesDevin demonstrates each vulnerability in a partner API with a failing test, fixes it, and keeps the test as a regression test.GitHub
- Fix a slow API endpointDevin benchmarks a slow dashboard endpoint, profiles it, fixes the causes, and reports p50, p95 and p99 latency before and after.GitHub
- Migrate a Java 8 app to Java 17Devin records tests and a benchmark on Java 8, replaces APIs removed from the JDK, and compares the same numbers on Java 17.GitHub
- Implement a feature from a specDevin implements per-column WIP limits on a kanban board from a spec, writes a test for each acceptance criterion, and records the UI in a browser.GitHub
- Reproduce an iOS Safari bug on macOSDevin starts a macOS machine, reproduces a bug that only happens in iOS Safari in the iOS Simulator, records it next to Chrome, fixes it and records the fix.GitHub
- Write a repo skill from a failed runThe tests in this repo fail until you know two setup quirks. Devin works them out while adding a feature, then writes them into a skill file so later sessions set the repo up correctly.GitHub
- Set up a repo's environment and KnowledgeThe tests fail on a fresh clone and the README says almost nothing. Devin works out which services and environment variables the repo needs and saves them as an environment blueprint and Knowledge for later sessions.GitHub · you approve setup changes
- Analyze a churn spikeDevin queries a SQLite warehouse to explain a churn spike, tests competing explanations, and delivers an interactive HTML report with the SQL behind every number.GitHub
- Audit six repos with a Dynamic WorkflowA Dynamic Workflow runs one child session per repo to check for a deprecated package and missing rate limits, ranks the findings, and opens PRs only for confirmed ones.GitHub · GitHub CLI
- Fix a production errorCheckout is returning 500 errors. Devin reproduces them by replaying production traffic locally, finds the cause in the logs, and opens a fix PR with a regression test. If you use Sentry, it can start from the live Sentry issue instead.GitHub
Integrations
Slack and Linear
These labs also need Slack, and the triage lab needs Linear too.
- Triage a bug report from SlackYou tag Devin on a customer bug report in Slack. It records a video of the bug, files a Linear ticket with that video, opens a fix PR and replies in the thread with the links.GitHub · Slack · Linear
- Schedule a weekday health checkDevin creates an Automation that runs tests, npm audit, npm outdated and a bug-issue check every weekday, and posts the result to Slack.GitHub · Slack
